CONFIDENCE IN GLORIOUS AND PERILOUS TIMES

As we look back on the past year and are preparing for 2016, we are faced with many challenges.  But there is a faint light at the end of the tunnel and that gives us a measure of hope moving into the New Year.   Myriad levels of changes are upon us, in the spiritual as well as natural realms.  We will need the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the Word of the Lord, and one another and our God- given leaders as we move forward.  We need leadership.  I urge you to pray for your leaders on all levels.  Be careful to proactively desire and seek out the input of those who bring oversight to your soul.  We are in serious days and cannot afford ourselves the freedom to walk alone.

I encourage you to continue to avail yourself to the realities that we are being dealt with by the Lord for personal change.  We have been engaged with “a new season” for several years now and are staring at the ever changing dynamic of what this season is releasing in the earth.  We are not without vision or purpose which stabilizes our souls, if we know and understand how we are to conduct our lives in obedience to the Lord.

Isaiah 33:6 says, “And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.”  The Hebrew word used here for “stability” means – firmness, security and moral fidelity.  It can also be translated – faithfulness, steady, and truth.  The days ahead will require all of these.  The wisdom that we need is obviously the wisdom of God – revelation that comes to us from Him and not by our own understanding or reason.  The word for knowledge used here denotes an intimate, experiential knowledge.  It is translated in other verses as – cunning, awareness, skillfulness, and understanding.  As we consider knowledge, again, the knowledge that comes from knowing God – experiential, intimate knowledge that is given to us as we participate in our relationship with Him on a daily, monthly and yearly basis.  This is how we obtain the understanding of our times.

1 Chronicles 12:32 says, “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.”  When we are without this understanding, we find ourselves in a place of instability.  This is critical in that everything around us is being shaken and we are seeing the removal of our confidence in everything natural.  We will have to anchor our confidence in Him, in what He is doing, in what He is saying, and in our alignment with His purposes in the earth.

These are glorious and perilous times and require that our confidence is found in Him.  Darkness is arising and increasing but we have the promise of Isaiah 60:1-2 – “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”  It is the church’s finest hour.  He is building His church.  The gates of hell shall not prevail.   SELAH.
